nPM1304 Power Management ICs

Nordic Semiconductor nPM1304 Power Management ICs (PMICs) are an ideal solution for space-constrained applications that require small batteries. This PMIC provides unique system management features and accurate fuel gauging for low-power and space-constrained applications. The algorithm-based fuel gauge method uses current, voltage, and temperature monitoring, together with a mathematical battery module, to estimate battery state of charge. This method provides an accuracy comparable to that of dedicated fuel gauge devices, but without extra power consumption and inherent error accumulation. The nPM1304 from Nordic Semiconductor charges single-cell Li-ion, Li-poly, and LiFePO4 batteries with a linear charging module that supports charge currents from 5mA to 100mA and programmable termination voltages from 3.5V to 4.65V. Suitable applications include smart rings, sports performance trackers, healthcare devices, and end-products with small rechargeable batteries.
